Read a Million House Reading Challenge 2024

The aim of the Challenge is to read for as much time as possible.

Strive for a million seconds for your House.

5 minutes a day each, is all it takes.

• The Whitefriars Read a Million House Reading Challenge is open to all students & staff.
• The Challenge will run from Monday 1st April to Sunday 1st September 2024.
• You may read any published Fiction and Non-fiction books, in print or eBook or audiobook format, including Graphic Novels, Manga as well as printed Magazines/Newspapers.
• Only books read from Monday 1st April to Sunday 1st September 2024 are valid **
• All books and reading time must be logged in the system provided by the Shortis Library
• Reading time can be logged while you are reading or at the end of a book
• All reading must be verified / checked by library staff so that your reading time tally can be counted towards your house tally
• Do you want to contribute to the Reading Challenge and help your house win but didn’t have time read the whole book? Or decided a book is not for you...Can it still count?  
  Yes....Talk to the library staff about how you can include the time you took to read a chapter or two.
• Staff tally counts towards house tally - so encourage your teachers to participate.

** Does NOT include English set texts / set texts for any subject, online articles or books you have read before.
