  • The Whitefriars Million Words House Reading Challenge is open to all students & staff.
  • The Challenge will run from Thursday 1st April to Wednesday 4th August 2021.
  • You may read fiction and/or non-fiction books, in print and/or eBook format.
  • Only books read from Thursday 1st April to Wednesday 4th August 2021 are valid **
  • Verify each book and have the word count recorded and added to your house tally and your individual tally.
  • Do you want to contribute to the Million Words Challenge and help your house win but don’t have time to read a whole book? Talk to the library staff about how you can have your word count from chapters read included in the tally.
  • Staff tally counts towards house tally - so encourage your teachers to participate.

** Does NOT include English set texts or any books you have read before.

** Unfortunately, due to the nature of the reading challenge graphic novels and fan fiction and manga and audiobooks cannot be included.  A suggestion: if you like audiobooks - borrow the print book or eBook and read at the same time as listening.
