Time Salvager - The genre of the book is sci-fi/adventure. The book is set in the 26th century in a very dystopian, poor future. The Earth is a barren wasteland with radioactive rain and a very thin atmosphere. The main characters in the book are Elise Kim, a girl brought back from the past, James Griffin-Mars, a time traveller, Grace Priestly, the inventor of time travel, Auditor Levin, a time police, and Securitate Kuo, the ruthless head of the project. Some of the secondary characters are Director Young, a director of the agency. Oldest Qawol, the head of the Elfreth tribe. Oldest Franwil, an elder of the tribe.
James works for an agency called ChronoCom which goes back in time to salvage energy and other recourses to keep a dying humanity from extinction. When James brings Elise back, it all goes to doo doo. This is a good sci-fi book I recommend for ages 13 and up. It has lots of really interesting concepts and lots of action. I highly recommend reading the second one after it, because adds so much to the story. And that is the end of my book review on Time Salvager by Wesley Chu.
Time Siege - It is the second book in its series, and we’re still waiting on a third book. The book picks up right where the second one left off. We get some new secondary characters, such as Teacher Crowe, Commander Maanx, Chawr becomes a more prominent character. There are snippets of Auditor Levin. It’s one of the best books I’ve read, with the concept of bands, coils and time travel all rolled into one bundle of page turning goodness. It's still strictly in the area of sci-fi/adventure, but ventures a little into romance. There are plot twists upon plot twists, so if you like getting blind sided by something you never thought would happen, this book is for you. There are lots of problems, such as James getting addicted to a certain alcohol, the Co-op hunting the tribes, until they finally unite under one banner. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend it for ages 12 and up, as there is a little romance and a lot of fighting, and people with a love of sci-fi and future concepts. The only problem I found with it was a few typos, but that can’t be helped. That is the end of my book review on Time Siege by Wesley Chu.
